Alain Clark Takes to the Stage in London

When fans see Alain Clark play a live show, they are often struck by just how much the quality of his live performances match the sound found on his recordings.

In a day and age where artists are often met with elaborate technology in the studio, talent is not always what you see when an artist performs live in front of you. That “funk pop soul” that Alain puts wholeheartedly into his music is an adamant force in Alain’s onstage persona, and it certainly affords his shows a certain level of credibility that all of his songs are written on a personal level. In this way he easily connects with each song, sending his “happy vibe” well out into the audience.

Alain recently performed his first-ever solo gig in London, and he had absolutely nothing bad to say about the experience, though he hadn’t been sure what to expect from a horde of Londoners - the soul singer had been anticipating that moment onstage since he’d been informed of the planned gig. Alain regrets that he and his band only had the opportunity to play five songs, but they made the best of the experience and Alain was able to report that “it felt like a proper gig.”

The new experience was understandably a bit nerve racking for Alain, as he has been used to a certain crowd (in Holland), and that crowd’s reception of him. The experience was completely new to him because he’d not yet played his music to a UK crowd, where no one really knows what to expect from him either. Alain copped to a certain level of youthful anticipation to see how the new audience will fully receive him in the future, but he keeps his nervousness at bay by recalling that music is the world’s universal language, and, he says, if one country has been so quick to welcome his sounds, then why wouldn’t every place be as generous?
