Alain Clark’s ‘Live It Out’ featured in the Daily Mail

The baby faced soul singer received yet more positive press today when the Daily Mail published a piece on Alain’s UK debut. Alain is hoping to repeat the rapid ascent to success he experienced in his native Netherlands, which shouldn’t be too difficult considering the sort of reception Live It Out has been receiving from music bloggers as well as big name news resources, such as the BBC

The Daily Mail reported on Alain’s “warm and inviting tone against the dry earth and grit of his aging father’s” creating an ideal contrast – a notation that is often made in reviews of the album’s first single, “Father and Friend.”

Live It Out, which was released on April 6, features all of the funky soul singer’s singles to date, and it also features session recordings from legendary drummer Steve Gadd (who has worked with Paul McCartney, Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon, and Eric Clapton), as well as bassist Kevin Wyatt (who has previously supported the music of Terence Trent D’arby, and En Vogue).

The album is richly infused with Motown-influenced sounds, as well as that of classic soul music of the sixties – a sound which Alain first previewed when he hit the music scene in the Netherlands last year, where his homeland debut single “This Ain’t Gonna Work” soared to the number three chart position.  In the Netherlands, he then released the singles “Father and Friend” (number two), “Blow Me Away” (number eight), and “Fell In Love” (number ten).

Live It Out surpassed double platinum sales status in his country of origin, and the album was the recipient of widespread critical acclaim there as well.  Alain was awarded a Rembrandt Prize, and a Megaward.
