Alain delves into ‘Live It Out’

Alain discussed the details of Live It Out, his UK album debut, with We7 recently; the singer-songwriter commented on the vintage sounds of his work, his inspirations for writing music, and his plans for the year.  Alain walked the interviewer through Live It Out step-by-step, making this interview different from others in that it was a bit more detailed when discussing the singer’s actual work.  As usual, the first question he fielded was one about whether he was excited to be launching his career in the UK – which of course Alain responded to in the affirmative.

“I like challenges,” he said.  “I like to play for people who don’t know what I do. Even better if they expect it to be bad – it’s nice to just go on there and just do your stuff and prove them wrong and conquer them in a way.”
According to the new soul singer, 'Live It Out' has a theme, and a rather verbose one: “You know, it’s really saying ‘It’s easy to dream, everyone has dreams. But it’s about taking those dreams and making them real.’ For me, the album was just that. It’s a complete circle – having had that dream for so long and then finally doing that and finding out how good it is. You have to take the risks: every time you live out your dream, there are risks involved. In this case you have to put in money and time, so my risk is ‘Will I earn that back, will I make it big?’

“But you find out when you are doing it, even before the end result, you’re living it out. And that’s what it’s about, it’s about that journey.”
Assuredly the handsome Dutch singer is on the right track for earning back his own investments in himself.  His album, 'Live It Out', was recorded with the help of some of Alain’s friends from his days of producing music.  The singer was mainly inspired through his own life experiences, and incorporated a Motown element into Live It Out.
