BBC raves about ‘Live It Out’

Now that new male singer Alain’s album ‘Live It Out’ has finally hit the UK market, reviews for the sweet-voiced soul singer’s album have graduated from the blogosphere to widely read news media outlets such as the BBC, who reported that the album was “radio-friendly R&B” and home to “provocative lyrics” as well as the “masterful single ‘Father and Friend.’”

Yes, Alain’s music is just as striking as his good looks – and it is certainly no wonder that his label is taking such a high level interest in his career, as it is an entirely promising one.  The BBC also noted in their album review that Alain has been well on his way to success in the UK for some time – as he is already a double-platinum artist in his native Netherlands.

The album’s lead-off single “Father & Friend” received its standard ovation from the BBC, which reported the song as “mushy yet masterful.”  We’ve heard so many good things about this song thus far, but it’s nice to see that the positive reviews just keep flooding in.  This review reports that the album opener “Blow Me Away” may just be the best track on the album, it’s “an aural lovechild of America’s Robin Thicke and the highly underrated Leela James.”

These two much-reported on tracks weren’t the only ones to be marked as standouts on Live It Out; the track “Go There” was also BBC-approved as a “steamy number…with its emotional church organ and Clark’s provocative lyrics.” Another brilliant addition to the album is the song “All You Gotta Change,” the sweet ballad featuring a “gorgeous, stripped-back piano.”

The BBC called “Fell In Love” a pleasant surprise, describing the song as “country-inspired,” and featuring “whimsical production and dreamy hooks.” And finally, with “She’s The One,” just about every other song on Live It Out received a name check in the affirmative.
It’s becoming clear to the world what we have long known – that although Alain draws much of his inspiration from the modern genre, his own unique take on the music will help him plant his feet firmly in the constantly changing R&B music platform.
