Alain is making extreme headway in his career; he’s already a household name in his native Netherlands, and he has just released his UK debut. A recent thread was dedicated to him on Popjustice, and fans who responded to it were so willing to back up Alain’s music that it really leaves one no choice but to at least check out just what it is they are raving on about. Charley was the first to post the thread, in which he drew attention to “some nice new music to fit in right between your Gabriella Cilmi, Bryn Christopher and James Morrison albums!”
Alain Clark, he pointed out, is already a platinum selling artist in his homeland, and so now that 'Live It Out' is coming to the UK, it’s a prime opportunity for listeners to discover a great new artist. The thread originator posted links to Alain’s music video for “Father & Friend,” snippets of the album’s music, and a video for the song “This Ain’t Gonna Work.”
Fan reactions – many had already heard of Clark, but a few readers had just learned his name – were generally overwhelming (such as “Watch out UK he’s gonna blow your mind” as well as “I met Alain once. He records in the studio that's in the basement of my office. If you think he is cute on the pictures... I used to think they're photoshopped to death. They're not. He is in fact not photogenic. The most attractive man I ever touched (as in handshake). And he gave me the address of the shop where he buys his hats!”).
Perhaps the most interesting comment, with Alain’s recent career developments in mind, was, “Wait till ‘Blow Me Away’ comes out and blows you away.” Can’t wait.
