Britney Spears Returns to the UK

On Wednesday night, the formerly fallen and currently back-on-top Britney Spears will be making an appearance at the O2 arena in London to kick off the UK leg of her Circus tour.  And unlike in the case of Michael Jackson, there is no doubt that this comeback performance will actually take place.  There is some concern, however, that Britney will put on the sort of dead-behind-the-eyes performance we saw her give on the most recent season of X Factor.

Jackson Delays Start of O2 Residency

Michael Jackson has rescheduled a number of his London concerts at the O2, recalling past behavior that includes concert cancellations and no-shows and has fans worried about the status of shows for which they not only bought tickets, but for which they may have invested in plane tickets and hotel bookings – some of which may not be as refundable as concert tickets. The uk tour dates will still go ahead at a later time.

Spotify plans music sharing Facebook application

Facebook members will now be able to share playlists with friends on the social networking site; Spotify is launching a Facebook app that will allow users to link their accounts to musical playlists in a simplified manner.

Elijah Kerr, once a member of a notorious street gang, is getting set for the release of the soundtrack to his own best-selling memoirs.  The ex-gangster, known as JaJa, was once a drug dealer and bank robber whose time with the Peel Dem Crew earned him two trips to jail, according to the South London Press.

HMV Group, who is currently Britain’s foremost music and film retailer, is finalizing plans to put cinemas above some of its 250 locations as part of a business makeover that in part seeks to diversify the company from the competition.  

Amy Winehouse collapses on vacation

A spokesman for singer Amy Winehouse has confirmed that the singer did in fact faint and was promptly treated for dehydration in St. Lucia. 25-year-old Amy Winehouse spent the night in the hospital because of her condition; she’d collapsed at her residence on the Caribbean island, where she had been vacationing.
