Amy Winehouse collapses on vacation

A spokesman for singer Amy Winehouse has confirmed that the singer did in fact faint and was promptly treated for dehydration in St. Lucia. 25-year-old Amy Winehouse spent the night in the hospital because of her condition; she’d collapsed at her residence on the Caribbean island, where she had been vacationing.

Amy Winehouse had been “running around” with a group of children just before she collapsed, but her condition doesn’t appear too serious. Winehouse’s UK spokesman said that the doctors informed the singer that “she was dehydrated and needed to drink more water.”

The pop singer, who is scheduled to play the St. Lucia jazz festival later this week, also recently obtained a court injunction that restricts members of the paparazzi from taking photos outside of her home in London.

Her spokesman, the BBC reports, was also on hand to confirm that the order will restrain photographers from following or coming within 100 meters of her London residence, which is defined as her property in Enfield. Winehouse had gone after the injunction last month, just after she relocated from the north London neighborhood of Camden to the Hadely Woods area of Enfield.

An unnamed source told the Show Biz Spy, “Every time she got in her car she was chased or jostled, and it has become unsafe not just for her, but the people around her. We don’t have a problem with the press doing their job but it has become mayhem a couple of times and Amy had to do something.”
