Britney Spears Returns to the UK

On Wednesday night, the formerly fallen and currently back-on-top Britney Spears will be making an appearance at the O2 arena in London to kick off the UK leg of her Circus tour.  And unlike in the case of Michael Jackson, there is no doubt that this comeback performance will actually take place.  There is some concern, however, that Britney will put on the sort of dead-behind-the-eyes performance we saw her give on the most recent season of X Factor.

All eight of Britney’s O2 performances are sold out, and are to be followed by a night in Manchester and then two in Dublin.  The female singer's tour comes after a stint in the US in promotion of her latest album of the same name, Circus – her sixth studio album, which was released last December, on the singer’s 27th birthday.
The album features the writing and production talents of Dr. Luke, who was behind the album’s title track.

The O2’s David Campbell is hoping for the best, and said: “This is the ultimate comeback from the queen of pop; I know this will be a show to remember.”
Perez Hilton, famed gossip blogger, told the Times Online that this, “one of the most successful tours of the year” is working “because there’s a whole team around her who have completely turned her life around.”

Britney has been through what many claim is the world’s most public downfall – at one point in the breakdown following her divorce from the father of her two children, Kevin Federline, Britney was actually strapped to a gurney and carted off in an ambulance with 70 helicopters and reporters filming the event.  Now, though, the world is lauding her return and fans are obviously lining up to see her live performances.
