Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole was surprised to be bitten by a potentially crazy female fan this weekend, reports The Sun.  The singer was posing for photos with fans just outside of her hotel when she was attacked by the fan, who lunged straight at her.  According to witnesses, the 25-year-old celebrity looked “petrified” just before a security guard swooped in to save her by whisking her inside of the hotel. 

The fan apparently did not realize she had bitten Cheryl, and the braces-wearing female culprit ran away yelling, “I kissed Cheryl, I kissed Cheryl.” 
Nadine Coyle, who stepped out of the tour bus moments later prepared to chat with fans and pose for pictures, was also promptly escorted into the hotel following the incident.  The 23-year-old singer was unaware of what had just occurred.  A witness stated: “Nadine didn’t know what had happened. It has left Cheryl petrified.”

The bite-kiss occurred just after a Girls Aloud show in at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, when Cheryl was standing just outside of the Malmaison Hotel.  Approximately thirty fans of the girl group had gathered outside of the hotel in anticipation of meeting the band.  Another witness told the Sun, “This girl was hysterical and totally obsessed with Cheryl. She lunged at her and her braces must have nicked her lip. Cheryl looked absolutely terrified. The band’s security manager said Cheryl had been hurt and was shaking.”

Instead of staying another night at the hotel as they had planned, the girls made the trip to Dublin, the next city on their tour list.  They traveled in blacked-out cars rather than their usual tour bus. 
A spokeswoman for the girl group said, “Cheryl was left shaken. As a result the girls have been more cautious greeting fans.”
