Myspace music is offering a free pre release stream of the new U2 album "No Line On The Horizon", which is due for release in early March. Although the album had already been leaked on bitTorrents and file sharing services last week, this shows the corporations are finally realizing the potential of releasing material early on social network sites like myspace, facebook and bebo.
The band begun work on the new album in 2006, originally with the infamous producer Rick Rubin, but unfortunately the material was shelved. The band went on to record new content with the producers Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno in 2007. During this recording time u2 signed a $100 million 12 year contract with Live Nation for the control of the bands merchandise, sponsoring and their official website.
Below is the band lead single from the album, “Get on Your Boots”, which was released on 23 January digitally and 16 Feb on CD. The music video was directed by Alex Courtes, who previously co directed videos for Vertigo and City of Blinding Lights, and shot in London, UK.
