Ozzy Osbourne’s dog killed by coyote

Little Bit Osbourne was tragically killed during the Michael Jackson memorial service on Tuesday.

The Telegraph speculates that former Black Sabbath frontman and his wife Sharon were watching the icon’s memorial tribute on television and did not hear the cries of their Pomeranian Little Bit just outside.

Kelly Osbourne wrote on her Twitter page that father Ozzy “is devastated – she was his other woman.”
The 60-year-old’s love for the dog ironically recalls darker times, when as a performer he bit the head off a bat (which didn’t turn out to be made of rubber, as he thought) as well as a dove (a stunt which was meant to gain the attention of recording executives).

Apparently during more drug-addled times the singer actually shot some of his family’s pets.  He once admitted: “I was taking drugs so much I was a wreck. The final straw came when I shot all our cats. We had about 17, and I went crazy and shot them all.”
Currently the family has 18 dogs in their Los Angeles mansion, and Sharon Osbourne is known for giving strays from the LA stray dog home a new place to live.

Los Angeles authorities have issued guidelines for pet owners concerning coyote attacks, and the Department of Animal Services warns that coyotes are very “opportunistic.”
