After Robbie Williams performed what he hopes will be his comeback single on X Factor, a photographer fell under the wheels of the singer’s people carrier, driven by a chauffeur. The young photographer was hit as the ex-Take That member was being escorted from the television studios. The Telegraph reports that Williams seemed shaken and tearful after the accident.
Earlier in the evening Williams informed the X Factor crowd, “It’s good to be back!” The singer performed his latest single, “Bodies,” for the results episode and the singer’s first performance in the UK in some three years.
“A male pedestrian in his teens and a car were in a collision,” a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police reported. “The male pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution. No arrests were made.”
During the show the singer acted as a mentor to the reality television contestants. Williams selected Olly Murs, Lloyd Daniels and Stacey Soloman as his personal favorites.
Kandy Rain was voted off the show that night after losing the public vote. The judges were deadlocked over the decision to send home either Kandy Rain or Rachel Adedeji. The group became the first act voted off this season of X Factor, one day after judge Cheryl Cole criticized the group for performing in skimpy outfits.
