Stone Roses’ Ian Brown arrested

Former Stone Roses singer Ian Brown was taken into custody over charges of assaulting his wife, Fabiola Quiroz. The police were called to the home Brown shares with his Mexican wife in West Kensington, London, on Monday morning at 8:05. Reportedly it was the couple’s neighbors who called in the disturbance.

Quiroz, a 37-year-old model/ actress, informed the police upon their arrival that Brown had attacked her.

46-year-old Brown was arrested on suspicion of assault and taken from his home to a police station. The former singer was then bailed out, but must return in December after further inquiries have been made.

A spokesman for the Scotland Yard said: “A 37-year-old woman made an allegation of domestic assault and a 46-year-old man was arrested at the address and taken to a police station.”

Brown and Quiroz were married in 1999 and have a 9-year-old son, Emilio. Before the British bands Stone Roses split in 1996, Brown had been the band’s frontman for 12 years.
According to the BBC, Brown announced in September that he would be writing and recording a new album with Smiths’ guitarist Johnny Marr.
