Lady Gaga’s single “Poker Face” has just made its way to the top of a chart that tracks the first five years of downloads in the UK, according to MTV UK.
The Official Charts Company is behind the Official Downloads Chart, which not only lists Lady Gaga in the peak position but at No. 3 as well, for the pop singer’s debut “Just Dance.”
According to the information compiled by the chart, “Poker Face” is the most downloaded song in the history of the chart, selling 779,000 files.
In response to her newfound throne, Lady Gaga said: “I love my fans eternally and will continue to live, breathe, bleed, and love music and fashion for them.”
The second most-downloaded song in the history of the UK is “Sex on Fire” by Kings of Leon, and the chart also lists Leona Lewis, La Roux, Snow Patrol and Nickelback as having some of the top ten most-downloaded singles. (Leona Lewis came in at No. 7 with “Hallelujah” and followed herself with “Bleeding Love.” Nickelback’s “Rockstar” was the tenth most popular download and Snow Patrol featured in at No. 6 with “run” and No. 9 with “Chasing Cars.”)
