Platinum predicted for Susan Boyle

alt

Many are speculating that female singer, Susan Boyle’s debut album, I Dreamed a Dream, will achieve platinum status even before Christmas arrives. The album has been selling out in a number of Scottish shops, hours after its release.

The album is expected to go straight to the top of the album charts in the UK, US and Canada. This week the West Lothian singer with the angelic voice was in New York to appear on The Today Show, the premier morning television show stateside, on which she performed live in Rockefeller Center.

STV reports that fans came out in droves near Susan’s Blackburn home to buy out much of the town’s album stocks. One local supermarket reported having moved two thirds of their supply of I Dreamed a Dream by noon.

In the album’s liner notes, Susan dedicated the album to her late mother, writing: “I would like to dedicate this album to me beloved mother, to whom I made a promise to ‘be someone.’ God bless. X”.

Susan also took the time to describe what each track on the record means to her, a delightful bonus for fans of the singer who took the world by storm when she auditioned for Britain’s Got talent earlier this year. More than 300 million people around the globe watched the Scotswoman shock the judges with her pitch-perfect version of “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables.

The album has broken one record on its way to becoming a platinum smash, selling the most pre-ordered copies in the history of Amazon.com.
