Last FM Will Charge For Streaming

music streaming site, Last.fm will charge visitors outside of the UK, Germany and the US to listen to music. Those visitors who are supposed to pay a subscription will be allowed to listen to 30 songs for free. Last.fm's Matthew Ogle said, "Sure, this was a business decision"

"But after looking at our resources and opportunities we think it's the best way to keep improving Last.fm radio (and also support all the other free services on Last.fm)."

"While we would like to provide the same service for users of all countries," added Owen, "the world is a huge place and it's not cheap to deliver music over the Internet."

Last.fm has grown into one of the largest music social network sites in the world, although, many bloggers and users of the service are against the decision. One blogger said, "This would allow people like me (who have been contributing to the Last.fm database for years now) not to feel completely abandoned. Don't forget that last.fm is what it is because of us".Users will be charged 3 Euros to listen to music artists
