With the World Cup almost upon us, the entire planet is about to go football crazy. But within the realms of rock & pop it seems there are a few individuals who are soccer fanatics all the time rather than every four years. Here are ten musicians with major football fan credentials...
Oasis – Manchester City

The boys from Burnage fly the flag for the blue side of their home city. They are regulars at games, and have played major shows at City's old stadium, Maine Road, and also at their new state of the art Eastlands Stadium.
Steve Jones - Chelsea

The Sex Pistols guitarist might reside in LA these days but he's not forgotten his West London roots and is still a blue to the core, attending games whenever he is in London. He also hung out with the team at their summer training camps at UCLA in 2006 and 2007.
Julio Iglesias – Real Madrid

The casanova is a die-hard fan of the Spanish giants having played for their youth team. His son Enrique, with whom he has had a stormy relationship, is a huge fan of Real's arch rivals, Barcelona.
Brian Johnson – Newcastle United

The AC/DC singer is a Geordie to the core, so much so that he even played a cameo role in the movie “Goal” wearing a Newcastle shirt and saying a couple of lines.
Lily Allen – Fulham

Following in the footsteps of her Fulham-supporting father, actor Keith Allen, Lily is also a Fulham devotee, having been taken to games since she was a yongster. She recently attended Fulham's Europa League Final game against Atletico Madrid in Hamburg and was photographed in tears at the final whistle after Fulham narrowly lost.
Rod Stewart – Celtic

You don't have to be a genius to work out that Rod the Mod isn't actually Scottish. But it's in his blood somewhere, hence his fearce support of the Scottish national team and his devout following of Glasgow's Celtic FC, whom he has travelled all over the world to watch.
Mick Hucknall – Manchester United

Mick Hucknall went to Old Trafford as a wide-eyed seven-year-old and became such a fan that he named his band Simply Red. He then became mates with ex-United hero David Beckham and also sung at Sir Alex Ferguson’s testimonial dinner. “Me and Alex talk about all sorts of things,” he once said.
Steve Harris – West Ham United

The bass player and founding member of metal band Iron Maiden is such a West Ham fan that he has his bass guitars made in the team's claret and blue colours and is often seen sporting a West Ham scarf during shows.
Robbie Williams – Port Vale

His mother owned the Red Lion pub next to the training ground while he was growing up, the players gave him free tickets and he was hooked. “I would dream of running down the wing and putting the goal in the net at Vale Park,” he says. “I still have that dream now.” Despite still being a regular, he has apparently spurned all entreaties to invest in the club, preferring to splash out on a private box at Chelsea.
Fatbot Slim – Brighton & Hove Albion

The world-renowned DJ, otherwise known as Norman Cook, is a Brighton resident and owns 12% of his local professional club. Cook's record label Skint were also the club's shirt sponsors until recently.
