
Following comedy actor James Corden's recent spat with theatre legend Sir Patrick Stewart at last week's Glamour awards, we thought we'd take a look at ten great spats between musicians at award ceremonies over the years...
Elton John and Lily Allen, GQ Awards, 2008

The pair were co-presenting the Men of the Year awards but Allen was a little tipsy after swigging champagne on stage. Elton duly made a jibe about her drinking, to which Allen retorted: "**** off Elton, I'm 40 years younger than you, I have my whole life ahead of me." In front of a shocked audience, the 61-year-old responded: "I could still snort you under the table".
Axl Rose and Kurt Cobain, VMAs, 1992

Axl Rose challenged Cobain to a fight during the show after Cobain and his wife, Courtney Love, egged him on. Guns N' Roses were due to play "November Rain" with Elton John and moments before, Cobain spat on the keys of what he thought was Axl's piano. Cobain later revealed that he was shocked to see Elton John play on the piano he had spat on.
Liam Gallagher and Peter Kay, Brit Awards, 2010

The former Oasis singer swore and threw his microphone into the crowd as he accepted an award for best Brits album of the past 30 years, for (What's the Story) Morning Glory? The show's host, comedian Peter Kay, was heard to say "What a knobhead," as Gallagher left the stage. The row continued on to Twitter where Gallagher called Kay a fat...well, you can fill in the rest...!
Bret Michaels and CC De Ville, VMAs, 1991

The two members of soft metal band Poison ended up coming to blows after Michaels accused De Viile of playing poorly during the band's performance. DeVille was later fired and replaced by Richie Kotzen.
Madonna and Courtney Love, VMAs, 1995

While an MTV reporter interviewing Madonna, an intoxicated Courtney Love crashed the conversation and began discussing how she and Madonna had gotten into a public dispute a few years earlier. Love began talking randomly about how there was plenty of good money in rock 'n' roll, to which Madonna responded "...and a lot of available drugs." An irritated Madonna left a few minutes later.
Kanye West and Taylor Swift, MTV Awards, 2010

During Swift's acceptance speech for best music video, Kanye came on stage and interupted, claiming Swift was not a worthy winner, saying that Beyonce's Single Ladies should have won the award. "I was really excited because I had just won the award,” said Swift after. “And then I was really excited because Kanye West was on the stage. And then I wasn't so excited any more after that."
1993 Snoop Dogg and LAPD, VMAs, 1993

Wanted in connection with the death of an LA gang member the week before, Snoop made a bold appearance to present the Best R&B Video along with Dr. Dre and George Clinton. With the award duly despatched to En Vogue, Snoop got word that the LAPD was there to arrest him, and left the building before the police could find him. He later turned himself in.
50 Cent and Kanye West, MTV Awards, 2007

Kanye again, this time presenting an award with Fiddy even though the pair had been the subject of an on-going feud due the same-date release of their albums. The pair entered the stage from opposite sides staring at each other and the atmosphere was decidely uncomfortbale throughout.
Pamela Anderson, Tommy Lee and Kid Rock, MTV Awards, 2007

2007 was an eventful year for the MTV Awards. While introducing a performance, Anderson was the subject of repeated whistling from her first ex-husband Tommy Lee, despite her telling him to stop twice. It also later transpiredthat security had removed Anderson's second ex-husband Kid Rock after walking off stage and punching Lee in the face.
Eminem and Borat, MTV Awards, 2009

Having a history of homophobic outbursts, Eminem seemed furious when comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, playing his gay alter ego Bruno, landed in his lap with his bare buttocks aloft during a flying stunt that went wrong. .Eminem yelled "are you ****ing serious?" and stormed out of the awards ceremony, but it was later confirmed the act was staged.
