We've already brought you the husband and wife combos that have helped shape pop. But what about the brothers and sisters that have got together to make sweet music. Here are ten acts rooted around sibling membership...
10.Sister Sledge

Formed in Philly in 1972 by, funnily enough, four sisters - Kim, Debbie, Joni, and Kathy Sledge. Their older sister Carol decided not to get involved. Their biggest hits came in 1979 with two of the most well-known disco anthems, ‘We Are Family,’ and ‘He’s The Greatest Dancer.’
9 Jackson Five

Formerly The Ripples and then The Waves before going with the Jacksons, brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and of course Little Michael were one of the biggest pop bands of the 70s and became the first act in recorded history to have their first four major label singles reach the top of the American charts. Michael went on to be stratospheric as a solo artist and sister Janet also had a major solo career.
8 Bee Gees

The clue is in the name, Bee Gees referring to the Brothers Gibb. Barry, Robin and Maurice recorded their sweet vocal harmonies for forty years and have sold in excess of 200 million records, making them one of the biggest – and hairiest - selling acts of all time.
7 The Osmonds

Another band that made the 70s what they were. Made up of various members of the family at different periods but the original band consisted of brothers Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay. These were later joined by Donny and Jimmy, and sister Marie. They also had two older brothers George and Thomas who were both born deaf, which might have been a blessing given some of the things their other siblings turned out....
6 The Corrs

Hailing from Dundalk in Ireland Andrea sings, Caroline plays drums and Sharon plays violin and they all look pretty good doing it, too. Oh, and then there is their brother Jim who plays the guitar. But no one really cares about him...
5 Beach Boys

Brothers Dennis, Carl and Brian Wilson were the spine of this legendary Californian outfit, along with their cousin Mike Love and a couple of high school friends. They had thirty-six US top 40 hits, the most any US rock band has ever had, and fifty-six Hot 100 tunes, including four number one singles. According to Billboard, they remain the top selling American band of all time.
4 The Carpenters

Brother and sister Richard and Karen Carpenter were known for their soft, easy listening sound during the 70s breezy sound. One of the best-selling music artists of all time thanks to standards such as Close to You and Now & Then.
3 Everly Brothers

Brothers Don and Phil Everly were best known for their acoustic guitars and tight harmonies. Their vocal style had a huge influence on the Beatles and The Beach Boys, both of whom used to do Everlys covers.
2 Shangri-Las

New York girl group form the mid 60s that consisted of identical twin sisters Marge and Mary Anne Ganse, and their friends who were also sisters, Mary and Betty Weiss. Their most successful hits were ‘Leader Of The Pack’ and ‘Walkin’ In The Sand.’
1 White Stripes

Jack and Meg featured in our husband and wives
list, but given that that was just a rumour, they fall into the brother-sister category, too, seeing as that is what they actually claim to be. Looks like this one will have to go down to DNA testing!
