Pop Singer Madonna will be recording new music for her upcoming greatest hits album expected in September. The album is to be her final with Warner Bros. Records.

Madonna has previously released two greatest hits albums, "The Immaculate Collection" and "Greatest Hits Volume 2." The former is tied with Patsy Cline's "Greatest Hits" for the all time best selling greatest hits album by a solo female in the U.S.

Details for the new hits album have not yet been finalised, but according to Madonna's publicist, Liz Rosenburg, "all different options are being explored regarding packaging and content"

Her most recent album release "Hard Candy" debuted at number one in thirty-seven countries worldwide.  It has sold 714,000 copies in the U.S.
